ADAS Calibration

ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration refers to the process of adjusting and testing the components of a vehicle's ADAS to ensure they function correctly and accurately. These systems include features like adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and more, which rely on cameras, radar, and sensors mounted around the vehicle.

During ADAS calibration:

Preparation: The vehicle is prepared by ensuring it is parked on a level surface in a specified location, often indoors, to minimize environmental variables.

Initialization: Technicians connect to the vehicle's onboard diagnostic system to begin the calibration process. This may involve using specialized software and tools provided by the vehicle manufacturer.

Target Placement: Calibration targets, which are specific patterns or devices, are positioned precisely according to manufacturer specifications. These targets help the ADAS systems to orient themselves correctly.

Adjustment and Testing: The ADAS components, such as cameras and sensors, are adjusted to align with the calibration targets. Technicians then conduct tests to verify that the systems accurately detect and respond to simulated driving scenarios.

Verification: Once calibration is completed, technicians verify that all ADAS functions are working correctly and that there are no error codes or malfunctions present.
